MirrorCare helps adults aged 18 or older organize self-reported family interaction patterns, current impact, and boundaries and self-regulation. It is an educational self-reflection tool, not a diagnostic test, psychotherapy, or crisis service.
Can it tell me whether my parent has NPD?
No. Answers describe your recollections and current experience. They cannot diagnose you or a family member, prove what happened, or establish the cause of current difficulties. A person seeking a professional assessment should use a qualified professional rather than this questionnaire.
What is the method and how strong is the evidence?
The original item bank uses a 1–5 frequency scale. Results are descriptive means across three domains, with relative priorities within the current answer set. There are no validated mild, moderate, or severe cutoffs. Lower scores do not prove absence of harm or risk.
The item bank has not completed expert content validation, bilingual back-translation, cognitive interviews, pilot testing, test-retest reliability, structural validity, or clinical criterion validation. What is free, and what does USD 4.99 buy?
Quick Reflection offers 9 rotating questions and a basic descriptive map. Safety resources are free. Deep Assessment uses a stable 24-question set, taking about 8–10 minutes. A one-time USD 4.99 purchase unlocks the report for that completed answer set after server verification. Freemius displays final currency, price, and applicable taxes before payment.
The report contains rule-generated explanations linked to answers, relative priorities, contact-strategy decision support, a staged action plan, optional device-local trends, and HTML download or browser print/save as PDF. It is not a clinician-reviewed treatment plan, subscription, or unlimited retest package.
Can I return to my paid report later?
One payment is bound to one completed 24-answer set. The signed payment credential lasts 24 hours. Within that window, reopening, switching language, and export depend on keeping the original answer session available in the browser. Changing answers requires a new purchase. Downloaded HTML and saved PDF files do not expire; the service does not provide a permanent account-based online archive. Contact support if verified payment did not deliver your report.
What happens to my answers?
Quick Reflection runs in page memory. Deep answers are sent over HTTPS for report generation. Raw answers and report text are not written to the application database. Payment and fulfillment metadata plus an answer-array SHA-256 digest support one-payment/one-answer-set redemption. This is data minimization, not a claim that all infrastructure logging is absent.
Trend history is optional and browser-local: dates and aggregate means, not item answers. Freemius handles payment details. See the privacy policy for hosting, support, and payment data handling.
When should I use a different kind of support?
MirrorCare does not assess violence risk or replace emergency help. If there is immediate danger or risk of harm, seek local emergency or crisis support. A score should not determine a medical, legal, custody, or safety decision. Contact-strategy options are not a universal instruction to end contact.
Where can I check the background?
The homepage measurement notes describe the constructs and link to public sources, including CDC adverse childhood experiences resources and the Perceived Narcissistic Parenting Scale study. Those sources do not validate MirrorCare's original questions or the paid report.
